Family Charity Fun Day

Come and join in our free charity family fun day in aid of Action Duchenne. There will be craft stalls, family games, face painting, bouncy castle, plus lots more. The event will also be followed by a kids evening disco from 6-8pm.


The Village Inn

A warm welcome awaits you at The Village Inn which can be located inside the village hall on Kirkstead Road, Pinxton. Now open Saturday and Sunday lunchtimes as well as every evening from 5.30p.m.

This cosy bar has a good selection of wines and spirits at reasonable prices and a TV. Bar skittles are played on Tuesday evenings in the adjacent main hall. A full bar service is also available for your special function.

Live and Local - Coming Soon

We are pleased to announce that top quality entertainment in the form of music and drama will shortly be coming to Pinxton as the Parish Council has joined the Live and Local network.  


Summer Activities

We are once again hosting activities for young people during the summer months. The Extreme Wheels Road Show will be on the grass at the back of the village hall and Oz Box sessions will take place inside the hall during August 2014.

Activities will be free of charge.  A parental consent form must be signed before children can participate in Road Show. Forms are available from the village hall

There will also be two activity programmes at Pleasley Vale Outdoor Activity Centre available:

All sessions have limited places (booking is on a first come first served basis), so it is essential you book in advance to guarantee a place. You will need to fill in the relevant application form above and enclose a cheque for £12 per person made payable to ‘Bolsover District Council’ and on the reverse write ‘Pleasley Vale Outdoor Activity Centre’, return this and the booking form to the address shown on the form. Only when these are received will your place/s will be secured.

Help & Advice

The Derbyshire Unemployed Workers Centre (DUWC) are also offering free benefits advice at the village Hall every Tuesday from 1-3pm. The service is available to everyone in the local community, whether in work, unemployed, sick or disabled, carers or pensioners. Come and take advantage of this great opportunity to find out about which benefits you may be able to claim. No need for an appointment, just drop in.
